PC-LineScan is a high performance, PCI frame grabber that provides on-board acceleration for high-speed vision tasks using digital cameras. Built upon an expandable architecture, PC-LineScan includes performance enhancements that collect and analyze large amounts of data in real time (Run-Length Encoding) while, at the same time, compensating for variations in lighting (Flat-Field Correction). These local processing capabilities offload the host CPU and provide users with increased speed and bandwidth to handle other tasks associated with the application.
PC-LineScan’s camera interface is identical to that of the industry proven PC-DIG with two important distinctions. First, the 32-bit differential data port now operates at speeds up to 62.5 MHz. This provides continuous image acquisition at a theoretical rate of 256MB/s - the fastest available! Second, due to the nature of the high speed interface and large format line scan images, PC-LineScan provides a 32MB image buffer.
Accompanying the PC-LineScan’s new features are several performance enhancements. The 32-bit differential camera data interface now operates at frequencies up to 62.5 MHz. This provides continuous image acquisition at theoretical 250MB/s. Another enhancement to the PCLineScan is a larger 32MB SDRAM-based image buffer. Finally, the PC-LineScan supports a plug-in daughter module to support additional real-time processing functions.
