Many of these backlights are frameless models, which allows several units to be combined in order to create different sizes and shapes, enabling the user to form an uninterrupted lighting surface. Sony announces its latest 5 mega pixel high-resolution CameraLink cameras. These cameras join the already popular XCL-5000 family of products. The two latest editions, the XCL-5005 (Monochrome) and the XCL-5005CR (Color), both uses Sony's exceptional 2,448 x 2,050 pixel, 2/3" progressive scan CCD sensor. Both cameras feature a multitude of functions, such as 15 frames per second video capture, vertical and horizontal partial scan, built in real time hardware preprocessing. These cameras were built to meet the AIA's PoCL standard (Power Over CameraLink). The targeted applications for these two models are, P.C.B. and F.P.D. inspection, Semiconductor Bonding Machines, and Microscopy, among many others. Both cameras are compatible with a wide variety of commercially available CameraLink frame Grabbers.
